PokerStars & PokerNews December Partnership Explained

PokerNews has teamed up with PokerStars to offer an exclusive series for the month of December. The December Freeroll Series began mid-December through the online poker platform. Best of all, even more, freeroll offers will be made in the future. Among the first freeroll offers featured a $5,000 prize pool, as well as up to one hour for late registration. PokerStars players had plenty of time to get in on the game.

How PokerStars Players Could Take Advantage of Freerolls

To take advantage of the freeroll offer, players had to visit PokerNews and enter their email. Once that was complete, a password was sent to use for the freeroll event.

Of course, players also needed a PokerStars account. Players without a PokerStars account had to sign up and create an account with the online poker website first. Once a PokerStars account is created, the special PokerNews password could be used for the freeroll event, as well as other upcoming freeroll events.

Non-Stop Action at PokerStars

There’s a reason why PokerStars is among the country’s top online poker brands. The company continually evolves, regularly adding tournaments, cash games, and special events to its schedule of action. Players love PokerStars due to the high quality of the online poker that can be found there.

Players can enjoy the new tournaments that went live recently, including premium game types and new formats, such as Zoom Poker. The Spin & Go Flash tournaments are a long-time favorite, but needless to say, there is always something new at PokerStars.

New Brazilian Deals for PokerStars

In addition to offering the best online poker experience, PokerStars is branching out to other arenas of online gaming. For example, in early November, the company announced a deal with Team Furia, a Brazilian-based eSports group.

According to the deal, a fresh team of live-streamers has been created just for PokerStars, including Latina poker pro, Lali Tournier, as well as Furia CEO André Akkari. Akkari is also a PokerStars brand ambassador. Akkari sees the partnership as a natural step, as Team Furia looks to expand beyond eSports.

Brazilian soccer superstar Neymar has also rejoining PokerStars as a brand ambassador. “As a real poker fan, I’m excited to begin a new chapter with PokerStars,” said Neymar. “Together we’ll create memories for our community and poker fans all over the world.”

According to Forbes, Neymar is the world’s fourth-highest-paid athlete with a net worth of $200 million.

However, Neymar is not the only sports star to team up with PokerStars. The company’s roster of international sports superstars has included Boris Becker, Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal, Portuguese soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo, and Dutch field hockey player and Olympic gold medalist, Fatima Moreira de Melo.

PokerStars Bids Farewell to Chris Moneymaker

While the online poker giant has been busy signing up new brand ambassadors, the company has bid farewell to its longtime ambassador, Chris Moneymaker.

Moneymaker has played a major role as a brand ambassador since he won the 2003 World Series of Poker Main Event, during a seemingly impossible run launched via an $86 satellite win.

Moneymaker’s appeal came not only from his charisma, but also from his appeal as an everyday Joe, who hit it big playing online poker.

Moneymaker posted a video to Twitter, thanking PokerStars, calling it a great company that gave him a great experience over the last 17-years. He plans is to spend less time playing poker and spend more time with his family, and indicated that his leaving was his decision.
